Fly Tipping Epidemic: Why It’s Crucial to Use a Licensed Waste Removal Company Like Samco Services

Fly tipping has become a serious issue across the UK, especially in local communities like Crawley, East Grinstead, and the surrounding areas. Unscrupulous individuals and unlicensed operators are dumping waste in country lanes, woodland areas, and even residential streets—damaging the environment, harming wildlife, and costing councils (and taxpayers) millions to clean up.

At Samco Services, we are committed to doing things the right way—no fly tipping, ever. We are fully licensed waste carriers, registered with the Environment Agency, and dedicated to disposing of all waste legally, ethically, and with full traceability.

The Growing Problem of Fly-Tipping

Fly tipping isn’t just unsightly—it’s illegal and dangerous. Dumped waste can include:

Hazardous materials like asbestos or chemicals
Sharp or broken items that pose safety risks
General household waste attracting vermin and pests
Furniture and appliances that become environmental hazards

Recent figures from local councils show a significant increase in fly-tipping incidents, particularly in rural areas and outskirts of towns like Ashurst Wood and Felbridge. Unfortunately, this rise is partly fuelled by rogue traders offering “cheap” rubbish removal services and then dumping the waste illegally.

Why It’s Important to Use a Licensed Waste Removal Company

When you book a house clearance or rubbish removal, you are legally responsible for where that waste ends up—even if someone else takes it away. If your waste is found fly-tipped and traced back to you, you could face fines of up to £5,000.

That’s why it’s vital to use a trusted and fully licensed company like Samco Services. We hold a full Waste Carrier Licence issued by the Environment Agency, which means:

We’re authorised to transport, carry and dispose of waste legally
We use only approved waste transfer stations and recycling facilities
We provide full documentation and peace of mind with every job

Samco Services: No Fly Tipping. Ever.

We pride ourselves on being a local company that puts integrity and responsibility first. Whether we’re clearing a full house in Crawley, removing garden waste in East Grinstead, or doing a quick rubbish clearance in Ashurst Wood, you can be sure your waste is handled the right way.

How You Can Help Stop Fly-Tipping

You can do your part to stop fly-tipping by:

Always checking that the company you hire is licensed by the Environment Agency
Asking for a waste transfer note or receipt
Avoiding “cash-only” services with no paperwork or credentials
Reporting fly-tipping incidents to your local council

When you hire Samco Services, you can rest assured that your waste is handled legally, safely, and responsibly—every time.

I asked Samco to clear my late Sister’s house in West Sussex and, even though I live in the East Midlands and bearing on mind the distance involved, I cannot fault them on their customer service and professionalism. Many thanks, Kate

Very reliable, efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Samco Services is a local business to East Grinstead. They are friendly, professional, reliable and hard working. I have asked for their help twice now and both times they were able to do the job fast. This is the company to go to when you want a job done.

This company was very efficient and easy to work with. I called them up to remove bedroom furniture and as they happened to be in the area, they came the same day and got it done with no fuss. Really Thankful I called them and not another company!

Appointment to remove a large sofa bed was between 1 and 3pm. Three young lads arrived dead on 1pm. Were very courteous. To alleviate any possible damage taking it out of a first floor flat they dismantled the sofa and were done in only 10 minutes. Would recommend Samco every time.

The house we moved into has a garden that hasn’t been touched in years. These guys arrived right on time, worked like Trojans all day and left my garden immaculate and ready for planting. Can’t thank or recommend them enough, 10 out of 10
